A strange kinda glory

Mr Manchester United

Exclusively dedicates to football legend Sir MATT BUSBY (May 26 1909-Jan 20, 1994)

Born in a village of Obirston, North Lanarkshire to a couple, Alexander and Nellie Busby.

The doctor who attended his birth said " a footballer has come into this house today"(agaknya slalu menendg kot dlm perut mak dia...taufik,,sok ank ko pn ader gaya jd football legend nih). Busby father was shot by a German sniper during the WWI, leaving him at a very young age (ank yatim) with his mom. (fuhhh...terigt citer the shooter--mark whalberg)
Playing career:
1st- Manchester City
Busby was 17 when he joined City with a-year contract worth 5-pound a week (cube skg byr bykni...hahah...water boy pun dpt byk lg), signed on feb 11, 1928.
Debut (Nov 2, 1929), a 3-1 win over Middlesbrough. He ended the season with 12 appearences, 5 goals, playing mainly inside left. During his time in City, he made 226 league games, scoring 14 goals. The team reached semi-final FA cup in 1932 and won the trophy in 1934.

2nd- Liverpool
Debut was made 2 days after signing (March 14, 1936). Busby scorerd his 1st goal a month later in a game against Blackburn Rovers (draw 2-2). Busby soon made no 4 shirt as his own with Bob Paisley losing his place, and hardly missed a game over the next 3 seasons, was made club captain as a result of his great consistency. He ended his career in Liverpool (and professional) at the start of WWII and signed up for the national service for King's Liverpool Regiment.

-->WWII--->(bukak balik buku sejarah dunia)

Managerial career
Manchester United (1945-52)

Busby and Murphy made a big impact at United in 1946/47 by leading the team to the runners up spot in the top tier of English football. The team finishe runner up in 1948 and 1949 and won FA cup in 1948. The team finally won the league championship in 1952.

Busby way:
The media thought to sustain United as England's best team, Busby and United gonna spend large sum of money replacing their squad. Instead, Busby had sought out the most talented 16 and 17 yr old players in amateur youth teams around the country including Billy Foulkes, jackie Blanchflower, Liam Whelan and Duncan Edwards. all 4 of which have became football legend especially Duncan Edwards, the best English player of his era broking the record of youngest full England international at the age of 18!!!-a record that remained for 40 years.

Duncan Edwards

Throughout the early 50's:
Busby babes had achieved:

League Championship titles (1956, 57)
Runner up FA cup Final 1957

The Munich Air Tragedy
After European cup against Red Star Belgrade, Feb 6, 1958, their plane crashed on a runway Munich airport. 23 killed on scene. 7 United players and 3 club officials died. Duncan Edwards died 2 weeks later. Busby and 2 other United players were severely injured.

Then lead by Jimmy murphy (Asst Manager) the team made to FA cup final 3 months later, but lost to Bolton.
Post Munich
United players crash survivors: Harry Kregg (goal keeper), Bobby Charlton and Bill Foulkes + (transfers) David Herd+ Albert Quixall +Denis Law ---> rebuild team--->Win FA cup 1963

Then, beli George Best (mmg best pun)-->League champions again 1965, 1967.

George Best

European Cup: Biggest success of Busby career, well at least in terms of football honours, came in 1967/68 season ended in European glory with his only European cup. After retiring, Busby moved to the boardroom and became the director for 11 yrs before being made club president in 1982.(aku baru lahir time nih)

Dramatic. Eccentric. Terrific

p/s: Yes Pete , i saw the gap...and they have a D*mn good reason for that...their players died in plane crash...hello....ring a bell..that doesnt happen everyday isnt it????!!!huhhuhuh???!!!

Cheers y'all
